CATHOLIC UNITED

TOURNAMENT WINNERS

 03-09-2006

Parsonage  3   Southend Manor  0

Parsonage played well in this game proving to be

too strong for Manor and won comfortably with goal from Oliver Bessex, James Tevenan & Ross Cope.

Catholic United  1  Parsonage  2

United played well but Parsonage scored twice with Ross Cope & James Tevenan before going asleep for 5 minutes and allowed United to score and put them back into the game. Parsonage then upped the tempo and deserved their narrow win.

Benfleet  0   Parsonage  4

This was the performance of the tournament as Parsonage clicked into gear. One of the best performances of attacking football Parsonage have ever played, with a hatrick from Oliver Bessex & Jack Clark scored the 4th resulted in a very comprehensive victory.

Semi Final

Parsonage  0  Echo White Caps 0

(Parsonage won on Pens)

In a one sided match Parsonage did every thing but score as they peppered the White Caps goal only to see their shots go wide or be saved by the outstanding Whitecaps keeper.  A penalty shootout saw the scores level after 5 penalties each (4-4).  Sudden death saw a string of saves from both keepers, with White Caps having the opportunity to win on no less than 4 occasions, only to be denied by the “Con Man”.

Final

Catholic United  0  Parsonage  1

The two teams met again, this time in the final.  Parsonage scored what proved to be the winner in the first half through a run and finish from Jack Lawrence.  In a game of few chances, the “Con Man” produced a fine save at the death to deny a game united side.

This was our first time playing in this tournament and we were not disappointed.  The duration of 10 minutes each half was nice to see and the tournament was very well run and refereed. OH AND THE PARSONAGE PERFORMANCE WASN’T BAD EITHER
