COBRA 1 PARSONAGE COLTS 1
24-09-2006
Echo League match
After two good wins and good performances to go with it, Parsonage went into this match full of confidence but put in a performance that in truth was “SHOCKING”
Once the game settled Parsonage began to get the upper hand. A shot just over, a great save from the Cobra keeper and a well taken goal from Callum O’Sullivan to put the visitors one up.
From then on the game went into a depressive overdrive of kick and rush football with both teams scrapping for the ball in the middle of the park. Half time 0.1
The second half was again a scrap with Parsonage content on individualism which got them no where and Cobra content to play the long ball up to their centre forward. Cobra for all their battling got their deserved break midway through the 2nd half as a cross into the middle was turned into the net by Parsonage old boy “Ryan Mallet” (well done Ryan!). After the goal Parsonages performance went from poor to woeful as they only managed one goal attempt in the whole half, which went wide from Callum O’Sullivan.
Finished 1.1
Fair play to Cobra today who got at us from the start and never gave up even when a goal down. That said I cant remember a Parsonage performance worse than this. There was no passing what so ever today, which was very frustrating as an excellent, two hour training session the day before was based on “Pass and move”. The Parsonage back two as always played extremely well and cannot be criticised but were let down by the performance’s by most of their team mates.
For Parsonage to win anything this season they need to play as a team, which didn’t happen today. Only time will tell as to whether the team can put this performance behind them and start to play football in the style they are renown for.
Parsonage: Kain, Ragon, Grigg, Clark, Bessex. Lawrence, Tevenan, Meehan, O`Sullivan
