INTERWOOD  0   PARSONAGE COLTS  2

Not really the game both Managers would have picked, if given a choice beforehand, for their teams first league fixture.  Both teams were well fired up for the first game of the season and how it showed.

The first five minutes were played out with both teams midfield battling like warriors to stamp their authority on the game.  Parsonage had the first chance as James Tevenan`s shot was stopped by the outstretched arm of an Interwood defender.  Penalty!  The same player then shot just wide to deny Parsonage the lead.  As the half progressed Parsonage became more dominant and got their reward courtesy of an Interwood defender who tried to take on Jack Lawrence, only to get robbed and see him smash one into the back of the net.  With half time looming Parsonage were rewarded a free kick for a tackle on Jack Clark which saw the same player make it two nil as his free kick somehow found its way into the back of the net 2.0

The second half saw Parsonage really get into there stride seeing Lawrence, Clark and Bessex all came close to scoring.  Interwood were restricted to long shots as the Parsonage defence stood firm to snuff out any threat of an Interwood revival.  Finished 0.2

We were very satisfied with the performance and result of our first league game today.  Interwood are a strong, tough team and our boys were on the receiving end of some very heavy challenges today.  Not once did they get intimidated and got the result their play merited.  There are a lot of teams in this division who are going to come unstuck here and we are very glad of the 3 points.
