ECHO LEAGUE MATCH

The top of the league clash between these two sides did not disappoint as an entertaining match of good attacking football was produced by both sides.

Parsonage started swiftly and tested the Aztec keeper in the first 5 minutes with one shot on target and one off.  Aztec replied with a shot that Conner Kain tipped onto the top of his bar.  The rest of the half turned into a midfield battle with both defences snuffing out any real threat both sets of teams could muster.  0.0 half time.

A more determined Parsonage took the field in the 2nd half and soon stamped their authority on the game. A Jack Clark free kick was well turned over by the Aztec keeper and shortly after good chances fell to Tevenan, Bessex and Lawrence who either missed the target or were denied by the Aztec keeper.  Although Parsonage were now well on top Aztec fired a warning that they were still in the game when they had an effort that went inches wide.

With five minutes to go and the clock ticking down another Parsonage attack was this time turned in as a loose ball fell to Oliver Bessex who hit home from close range.  Just as Parsonage thought they had got there reward, back came Aztec who with only minutes left, had a great chance to equalise only to be denied by an amazing save from Conner kain, which left every person watching, scratching their heads as to how he saved it.  Finished 0.1

Parsonage had to dig deep today to get the victory.  Aztec as their current league position shows are a greatly improved team who have been well coached, are very disciplined and have now established themselves as a force at this level.  Parsonage just about deserved their victory today on their 2nd half domination and the great save at the end.

A good advert for Echo League premiership football, with both teams contributing to an excellent football match.  Not once did a trainer have to come onto the pitch to treat an injury in a game that was well supported by both sets of parents and very fairly refereed
