FRIENDLY MATCH

Parsonage top of the premiership and unbeaten this term, County Park top of the league below and winners of 7 out of 7 league matches, cue for an entertaining game of kids football and we were not disappointed.

Park started the brighter for the first few minutes and almost scored following a corner that was headed onto the Parsonage post.  Only after 5 minutes did Parsonage get into the game and opened the scoring through Ross Cope.  Two quick goals followed, a great strike from distance from Jack Clark and another good strike from Callum O’Sullivan to make it 3.0.  Right on the stroke of half time Ryan Grigg with his first kick of the game and a rare midfield appearance killed the game off by scoring Parsonages 4th.

Shortly into the second half Ragon slotted home, O’Sullivan`s fierce free kick was turned into the net with a header from Bessex’s. Jack Clark added his 2nd and Parsonages 7th shortly after.  Finished 7.0

You have to feel sorry for County Park who found Parsonage on top form today.  Park never gave up and were still attacking with 5 players even when 7 down. Park knocked the ball around and tried to play attacking football at every opportunity, which was nice to see, as there are a few teams in our own league who are happy to play 6/7 players

behind the ball in order to gain a draw or a break away goal.  Respect for that.  Had the early County Park effort that hit the post gone in, the score line may have been very different?

The Parsonage performance today was top draw.  The passing was back and some of the moves were a pleasure to watch.  Today without Jack Lawrence and James Tevenan and the back two alternatively rested, boys found themselves in unfamiliar positions today but adapted very well.  Matthew Meehan was superb at left back and Oliver Bessex up front unselfishly laid the ball off time and time again to allow moves to continue into the heart of the Park defence.

We wish County Park the best of luck in their bid for the Echo Leagues, Severn Division title and promotion into the premiership.
