BUCKHURST HILL A 1 PARSONAGE COLTS 1
LEAGUE MATCH
11-03-2007
With this crucial game for both sides, both teams battled hard. The game started badly for the Parsonage, who found themselves a goal down inside the first 10 minutes. There was little that could have been done about the first goal an excellent left wing pass slotted to a player left unmarked in the middle who was able to hit the ball first time passed the full stretched Parsonage goalkeeper (an excellent well taken goal).
A few minutes later it was the Buckhurst Hill goalkeeper who kept the Parsonage team from equalizing, making a spectacular save from a very good passing move involving five parsonage players ending in a point blank save.
The rest of the half seemed to be a scrappy affair with the ball drifting back and forth between both teams, 60-40 possession Buckhurst Hill this half, but ball going more out of play and very tight marking on both sides. H.T 1-0
A frustrating second half for Parsonage, as they seemed to get stronger and stronger with every move this half 60-40 possession Parsonage, but good defending from Buckhurst Hill and determination on both sides led to another scrappy half where once again chances were few.
Parsonage had the bit between their teeth but you could still see little chance of a equalizer and was starting to look a forlorn task for Parsonage. Then with ten seconds to go a last gasp attempt starting from a goal kick, passing to James who kicked the ball forward towards the Buckhurst Hill box and a back header from Ollie Bessex gave the goalkeeper no chance.
All in all, a bit of a mixed bag. Parsonage were good in patches, worked hard but didn’t create a huge number of good goal-scoring opportunities. Buckhurst Hill worked hard and defended well and also didn’t have that many goal-scoring opportunities. A draw would have been a fair result. F.T 1-1
