PARSONAGE COLTS FC 5 – 1 REDBRIDGE

The game began with the two teams battling and end to end action. Parsonage were the more dominant in the first 10 minutes but it was Redbridge who rallied and were the first to score. Chafer made a superb fingertip save, to keep the score to 1 - 0 and keep Parsonage in the game. The Parsonage defence soaked up the pressure and turned the game into attack. Pickett worked the ball well to Heinrich-Amenu, who took the ball from just inside the Redbridge half, to the edge of the area. His pinpoint cross found Edobor, who tapped in from close range to make it 1 - 1. A joint effort clearance from Chafer and Ayres kept the scores equal. Good passing between Edobor and Heinrich-Amenu, led to Mallett's sweet strike nestling in the back of the Redbridge net. 2 - 1 to Parsonage at half time.

The half time team talk was inspirational. The Mallett managers breathed fire into the Parsonage team and it showed. Yexley controlled the ball and ran the length of the wing before sending in a beautiful cross, which left Heinrich-Amenu nothing to do but score, making it 3 - 1. The Parsonage defence, marshalled by Grigg and consisting of Okoh, Benmore and Ayres, later to change with Dickevicius, Shayle and Saunders, reduced Redbridge to pot shots. A wonderous pass to Edobor, who crossed to Heinrich-Amenu, found Clark in space. Clark's precision strike made it 4 - 1 to Parsonage. The heart of the team roared into action with Mallett, Clark, Yexley and Pickett joining forces. It was the hard working Mallet and the endlessly running Yexley, who combined to give Edobor the ball just inside his own half. He raced forward and placed the ball beyond the Redbridge keeper, making it 5 - 1. Abutoh and Lindsay played their part and were full of running in the closing stages.

The game should have finished on a high for the Parsonage team but instead went out with a wimper. The referee abandoned the game with only minutes left to play, citing abusive and threatening language towards himself from a Redbridge supporter. However the points remained Parsonages'.

Well done boys for a very hard fought game!
