LEAGUE CUP

HAROLD HILL 0 – 9 PARSONAGE COLTS

Playing on a pitch that would have done the Welsh hillsides proud and with signs of the country wildlife alive and kicking, the Parsonage boys started this cup tie as they meant to go on, with a very early effort ruled out for offside. Harold Hill should have heeded the warning but within 4 minutes, Parsonage got their just rewards, when Ayres hit a powerful long range shot, that the Hill keeper could only watch run into his net, 1 - 0. Good work from Edobor, passing through several Hill players, led to a shot going narrowly wide. Soon after, Hill got forward and a superb catch from Chafer led to his pass out to Klawiosiwk, who knocked onto Abutoh, who coolly made it 2 - 0.
Joint captain Yexley's fine running found him beat 2 Hill players. From the resulting corner he found Abutoh, onto Mallet(joint captain), who's superb shot made it 3 -0. Hill proceeded to have a good spell, pinning Parsonage back into their own half, however the defence of Benmore, Grigg, Okoh and Saunders kept any Hill attack at bay. They weathered the storm and turned defence into attack once more. Mallet's fine touch found Abutoh who's first time ball saw his effort hit the post and rebound to a gleeful Klawiosiwk, who tapped home for 4 - 0. The 1st half ended with Edobor going unluckily wide but the boys on a high.
The 2nd half began as the 1st had finished, with Parsonage on the attack from the off. It wasn't long before a mix up in the Hill penalty area ended up with Mallet taking a well placed shot at goal to make it 5 - 0 and his 2nd of the game. Again Mallet continued to play some good football to win the ball on the right, his cross into the penalty area found Abutoh who touched the ball on for Ayres to score his 2nd of the game, 6 - 0.
Excellent play from Parsonage left Yexley to chip the ball just over the Hill goal. Ayres combined well with Edobor, who ran in on goal to see his shot blocked for Yexley to then shoot just over again. Chafer was released from his goal to change with Mallet in midfield. Yexley finally got his just rewards and managed the Parsonage 7th after good play on the left. Grigg broke out of defence and found Yexley, he in turn found the eager Chafer, who shot and scored to make it 8 - 0. Hill by now had their heads down, gave away a free kick just outside their penalty area. Yexley took command and from his brilliant free kick ensured Parsonage went home very happy to make the final score 9 - 0.
Each and every boy had a superb game and quite rightly, the whole team were named men-of-the-match!
