PARSONAGE COLTS 3 YOUNG GUNS 2
3-3 After further 15 minutes

FRIENDLY MATCH
Having gained a comfortable success over the Guns in the summer Parsonage expected a relatively easy game to prepare them for the league encounter the following day, after a two week break due to postponements.
With the Young Guns starting line up very different from the summer encounter Parsonage knew they were in for a tough match as a determined Young Guns showed they would be no push over. Guns got the first goal after Grigg got injured, but never went down, so the ref (me) continued play to allow the Guns player the luxury of a clear pathway, before scoring well.
Parsonage soon levelled through Tevenan and the same player scored another shortly after to put the home side 2.1 up at half time. Oliver Bessex’s sweet strike from along away out made it 3.1 and the Guns added a second after a long goal kick sailed over the heads of the Parsonage defence and the Guns striker slotted home beyond the advancing Parsonage keeper. Finished 3.2 Parsonage.
A further 15 mins was played after, where the Guns scored courtesy of a Parsonage own goal to level the scores 3.3 over the 3 periods.
Although we had the majority of attacking play and a host of chances, we were disappointing today. We never took our chances in front of goal although that said both Gun’s keepers were outstanding today and pulled off many saves between them.
Ryan must be proud of the turn around of his team. There were plenty of new faces today and an added determination that was missing in our first encounter. Good luck to Ryan and Young Guns for the rest of the season and we look forward to our next encounter.
