This new look Parsonage team finally got it right today and put in the performance we have been looking for.

Right from the start Parsonage’s midfield were first to the ball (unlike the Lakeview match the week before) and had Xcel on the back foot.  The passing and movement off the ball all came together as Parsonage stamped their authority on the game.

Keith Ragon’s excellent run and cross saw Ryan Mallett finish well to give Parsonage the lead.  The pace of Michael Morris was causing the Xcel defenders problems and his brace made it 0-3 at half time.

Soon after the interval Ross Cope made it 4, Morris completed his hatrick, and Mallett added another to his tally.  Xcel battled to the end and scored a consolation goal close to fulltime. Final Score 1-6.

A further 10 minutes was played after the final whistle and saw Ross Cope cap a fine performance with another goal.

Xcel played there part in this match also and stand in Xcel under 9’s goal keeper Danny Malings was called upon to make a few very good saves.  Special thanks to Danny and his parents who rushed to our aid from Wanstead Flats to help us out.  Shame our own goalkeeper does not show the same enthusiasm. Also thanks to the Manager and Parents of Xcel for their praise of our team at the end.
