Parsonage  0    v    0  Interwood

Echo League: Essex

Played Sun 9 Apr 2006

The last game of the current season ended in disappointment as Parsonage were held to a 0.0 draw against Interwood.

A well fought match from start to finish was played out with neither side being able to break the deadlock.  Both teams saw chances go begging, but realistically it was apparent after the first 5 minutes that this match would end goalless.  Jack Lawrence caused Interwood problems down the right, but even his trickery couldn’t break the deadlock.

Although we passed the ball around very nicely today we never had the end product at the end of it, to open up Interwood in the final third, which disappointed me.  Our inability to score goals this season was again evident again.

After a great start to the season, we have slipped up of late and finished second in the league.  Finishing second and through to the final of the cup isn’t bad I suppose, but if we are to remain a dominant force in this age group, we will have to be more ruthless in front of goal.

Congratulation to Brad and the boys of Buckhurst Hill A, on winning the division, you deserve it.
