Parsonage 3 v Prostar 1
Friendly
Played Sun 18 Sept 2005
Parsonage produced a reasonably solid performance to beat Prostar in their last friendly match before next weeks start of the defence of their title.
Parsonage got straight into gear and Ryan Mallets nice finish saw them take the lead after 5 minutes. Further Parsonage pressure saw a few shots go wide/over and the Prostar keeper tipping a goal bound effort over his bar. 1.0 half time.
Parsonage should had scored with a well worked set piece from the 2nd half kick off, but Ross Cope failed to hit the target when nicely placed. Callum O’Sullivan made it 2.0 shortly after with a tap in following a bit of a goal mouth scramble.
The two nil score line seemed to spark Prostar into life and shortly afterwards a Prostar player beat 3 Parsonage players before finding the back of the net. For a further 5 minutes Prostar believed in themselves and good defending was called upon to keep them at bay. It was at this time I had to leave, but was told that shortly after Parsonage again took the game to Prostar and a trademark Callum O’Sullivan freekick made the game safe. Final score 3.1.
We produced some nice football at times today, but our passing game was a bit stop and start. Prostar are a good team who last year dominated a lower league but in my opinion should be playing this standard of football week in week out (only moved by one league). Full marks to Duncan who is now playing the top teams whenever he can. Parsonage wish Prostar good luck in the league campaign although I don’t think they will need it.
